Tour to Boliden Rönnskär smelter

Boliden’s purpose is to provide the metals ​essential to improve society for generations to come.​ Boliden’s vision is to be the most climate-friendly and respected metal supplier in ​the world.​

At the Boliden Rönnskär site visit you will be able to see the line for handling copper concentrates until producing Anodes that are to be shipped to the tank-house for the next step. The visit will also pass by one of the slag handling facilities and be able to take a closer look into the end product of granulated iron silicate.

Tour to SSAB steel plant

Time: 10.00 – 15.00. Bus departs from Kulturens Hus

SSAB Luleå is one of SSAB’s three production sites in Sweden. It produces around 2 million tons of high-strength steel per year, for example for the automotive industry. In 2025, SSAB began the construction of a new modern steel mill in Luleå, which marked a historic milestone in the transformation to fossil-free steel production.

 The visit to SSAB includes:

• Plant tour to blast furnace and continuous casting
• Presentation of SSAB’s transformation
• Presentation of BDX recycling operations at SSAB
• Lunch at Restaurant Malmen

Guided visit to Luleå Gammelstad

Welcome to the UNESCO World Heritage Gammelstad Church Town and the open-air museum Hägnan!

Gammelstad’s church town is more than 400 years old and has 404 church cottages with six stables and an outhouse. Learn more about life along the Norrbotten coast in the past. On this guided tour you will see the cottages and hear the story behind them.
